    As Lands End is a catalogue clothing company the data analysis was focused on two main attributes, to identify look-a-like individuals and individuals that had a preference to buy by mail order.     Marketing Lists were nominated as dlg's third party processing partner for the Mortascreen file which was utilised to remove deceased records from the database. Residency verification was performed against the Electoral Roll and Data Pool sources to verify that individuals still reside at their given address. As a Mail Preference Service (MPS) licensee Marketing Lists also screened the database against the MPS to remove individuals who do not want to receive unsolicited direct mail.

    The data cleanse improves the quality and efficiency of the data by increasing delivery and conversion rates, overall having a positive knock on effect to any marketing campaign sourced from the database.

    Data insight mined from customer analysis showed key patterns for when the next cruise might be booked. The same data analysis indicated whether similar packages would be chosen or where different experiences would be sought.

    Among many identified trends Marketing List were able to segment potential groups for regular booking, late booking and shorter break bookings. This opened up a multi channel acquisition combining mailings and telephone calls to fill cabins on a targeted basis introducing new custom for the established rebooking cycle.

    Client: Guide Dogs

    Guide Dogs receive over £20 million each year from legacies. It's an important revenue stream for the crucial work the charity undertakes.

    We found that there is typically a 20 year time lapse between when a supporter instructs their solicitor making a donation to a charity in their will to the time legacy income is received. This provides Guide Dogs [and many other charities] with a relationship opportunity to strengthen interest and support from retired individuals for the regular week by week demands of the charity.

    What better way than presenting what Guide Dogs do from puppy walking to demonstrating the change of life a guide dog can provide than regular regional presentations for local supporters, friends and families to meet and see for themselves how the charity works?

    Marketing List were contracted to bring together all of the data Kitchens Direct had purchased from previous years. After the initial build the analysis found that Kitchens Direct had 33.3% duplication meaning that they had purchased the same data from another supplier three times over.

    The ultimate goal of the project was to extract from their database and supply their four call centres with 575,000 telephone numbers per week on a 13 week rota to prevent the same household being dialled within 4 months from last contact.

    Age Concern and Help the Aged are now Age UK. To communicate this change with the UK's elderly audience they launched a huge multi-channel marketing and promotional campaign.
